Hi friend,
It’s my birthday week! 🎂✨ And as usual, my Sagittarius nature has me feeling both reflective (truth seeking!) and ready for the next adventure.
As this fall marched on and the calendar started inching toward its turning point, I found myself asking a simple question:
What would it look like to fully claim my corner?
That question led to a rebrand I’m particularly excited about (and that’s also leading toward something even bigger I’ll be asking for your help with next week!)
You’ll notice it first in my color palette: the same friendly purple I’ve always loved, now paired with banana yellow and a “sunny days ahead” blue. Brighter. Bolder. Joy-forward. Unapologetic. A much better fit with my famous googly eyes that slowly crept into my branding this year!
But this wasn’t about “refreshing” my brand just for the sake of it.
It was about wanting my work to look like the way I actually work. More hand-crafted, more human, and better aligned with the creative, thoughtful people I work with who aren’t willing to be toned down to be taken seriously.
It’s also about embracing color as an act of resistance. As a little birthday treat to myself.
A few weeks ago, Pantone released their 2026 Color of the Year.
The color? White.
Jokes abounded online. But also… unease.
Because there are very real historical patterns around how societies use (or suppress) color and texture. A cultural move toward sameness, neutrality, and “clean minimalism” often reflects deeper values: assimilation, conformity, and comfort of those in power over individuals' right to expression.
Just like my original branding, which leaned more neutral, more corporate-adjacent, more “acceptable”... a world that celebrates cloud-dancer white as the ideal is one that is asking people to shrink.
But I’m not interested in shrinking.
And I would never want my clients to, either!
In my little corner of the world, choosing bright colors and playful patterns is one small way I can make my birthday wish come true:
We are allowed to be seen. Even & especially if we are different.
We value the beautiful expanse of human expression.
We celebrate people who think differently.
We protect and uplift those who color outside the lines.
If you’re curious, I’d love for you to see it in action & hear your thoughts on it!

Thanks for being here, for celebrating change with me and letting me take up a little space in your inbox this week!
With joy and a little birthday sparkle,
Lark ✨
P.S. I'll have a short survey coming for you next week, but in the meantime, I'd love to know... is there something in your branding that brings you a joy & little sparkle? Just hit reply & tell me about it! I want to celebrate it with you!
